ATLANTA, Ga. – Coppin State's bowling team finished sixth of 16 schools at the TNBA HBCU Invitational hosted by Jackson State University at Fun Time Bowl this weekend.
The Eagles closed out the tournament with bracket play on Sunday and were matched up against Texas Southern in the opening match. TSU picked up the 4-1 win which sent Coppin to play MEAC rival Norfolk State who was coming off a win over Fayetteville State. After dropping the first two games to the Spartans, Coppin regrouped and won four-straight games before dropping the fifth-place match to Texas Southern in six games.
CSU closes out the season at the MEAC Championships starting on March 20 at AMF Lanes in Chesapeake, Va. The Eagles are the eighth seed and will take on top-seeded and 6
th-ranked Maryland Eastern Shore in the opening match at 9 am. Coppin will then play either 22th-ranked Monmouth or No. 21 UAB at 3 pm later that day.
