BRONX, N.Y. – After trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half, Coppin State's men's basketball team had three opportunities to tie or take the lead but fell just short in a 62-56 loss at Fordham on Monday night Rose Hill Gym.

Inside the Numbers
- Andrew Robinson led three Coppin State players in double figures with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting with three 3-pointers and four rebounds.
- Koby Thomas notched his fourth double-double in five games with 14 points and 11 rebounds. He added two blocks and a steal on the defensive end.
- Dejuan Clayton continued his climb up the CSU all-time scoring charts with 13 points to go with five rebounds and a pair of steals. Clayton now has 1,083 career points, one shy of Taariq Cephas for 18th in school-history.
- Coppin outshot Fordham, 38.6% to 33.3% and held a 43-38 advantage on the boards but the Rams made four more 3-pointers (9-5) on the same number of attempts (27). Fordham also made 15-of-21 from the line compared to 7-of-14 for the Eagles.
How it Happened
- The teams traded threes to open the game with Ibn Williams answering Fordham with a triple 34 seconds into the game.
- Fordham hit two more threes to go up, 9-3 and looked to pull away, but the duo of Koby Thomas and Andrew Robinson kept Coppin in the game before Dejuan Clayton's three at the 12:40 mark gave the Eagles a 14-13 lead.
- The Rams retook the lead with a three after the media timeout, but Reggie James tied it at 16-16 two minutes later.
- It was all Rams the rest of the period as a 13-2 run gave Fordham a double-digit lead with just over five minutes to go, and the hosts went into the half with a 39-25 lead.
- Coppin came out on fire in the second half, going on a 9-0 run out of the break which was capped off by a dunk by Brendan Medley-Bacon at the 16:54 mark.
- Fordham built its lead back to as many as 45-36 but CSU kept it close and pulled to within 56-54 on a three by Andrew Robinson with 2:06 remaining.
- CSU called a timeout immediately after Robinson's triple and immediately forced a turnover but failed to capitalize on the ensuing possession.
- The Eagles forced another turnover on Fordham's next possession but missed the layup at the other end with 30 ticks left.
- Fordham made six free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
