BALTIMORE, Md. – Brooke Fields dished out a career-tying eight assists and almost willed Coppin State to victory but to no avail as Bethune-Cookman staved off the charging Eagles 71-65.
Chance Graham put together her 12th double-double of the season while
Oluwadamilola Oloyede brought in 10 rebounds for the first time in 2018-19 to headline notable Coppin performances.

How It Happened
First Quarter
- An "and-one" fast break layup by Maraiyah Smith heading into the media timeout gave CSU the momentum and a 7-3 advantage.
- BCU would then embark on a 10-4 run to conclude the quarter and take its first lead of the game at 13-11.
Second Quarter
- Coppin State would counter with a 12-5 rally out of the break to regain the lead, 23-18.
- Bethune-Cookman would respond yet again, outscoring the Eagles 7-2 over the final 4:38 to re-obtain the upper-hand 28-25 at the half.
Third Quarter
- The Wildcats came out of the locker room blistering hot, running off 11 unanswered to build the margin to 14 in favor of the road team, 39-25 BCU.
- Coppin would slowly chip away at the deficit, trimming the lead to only six by the end of the third, 47-41 Wildcats.
Fourth Quarter
- Contributions from Brooke Fields, Chance Graham and Oluwadamilola Oloyede saw the Lady Eagles roar all the way back to even things up at 49 with 7:11 remaining.
- B-CU stifled the momentum shift by rattling off 12 consecutive points to go up 61-49 at the 4:42 mark.
- An 8-1 rally from the blue and gold breathed new life into the CSU comeback, returning the game to within reach as the score stood at 62-57 with just under three minutes on the clock.
- The Lady Eagles would cut the deficit to three on two separate occasions but could not complete the turnaround, as Bethune-Cookman held on for a hard-fought 71-65 win.

- Fields was honored in a pregame ceremony and received a commemorative basketball after scoring her 1,500th career point in a game at North Carolina Central on January 19.
- Chance Graham continues to rack up the double-doubles, as her 16 points and 16 rebounds give her 12 such performances in the team's 20 games.
- Graham moved into a tie for 18th on the all-time CSU scoring list after the game, sharing the spot with Karen Russell with 912 career points scored. She remains in fourth place on the career rebounding list at 793, trailing Larrisa Carter by 33 boards.
- Oluwadamilola Oloyede had a huge day in the rebound department, grabbing double-digit boards for the first time in 2018-19 and the fourth time in her career.
- Maraiyah Smith seems to be catching fire, as she accumulated a season-best 13 points for her sixth double-figure scoring output of the campaign and her second-straight outing in a row.
- Both Chasimmie Brown (18 points, 13 rebounds) and Amaya Scott (11 points, 11 rebounds) recorded double-doubles for the Wildcats while Angel Golden (16) and Camary Harris (10) both hit the 10-point watermark.
