Lady Eagles Make The Trek Down Charles Street To Take On Loyola

BALTIMORE, Md. – CSU's volleyball team will make the trip down Charles Street to face the Loyola Greyhounds on Wednesday night. This will be the first Maryland school the Eagles battle this season, with non-conference foe UMBC along with MEAC opponents Maryland Eastern Shore and Morgan State still to come. First serve is 7 p.m.

Scouting the Greyhounds
  • Loyola has broken even so far in the 2018 campaign, defeating Towson, Siena, and Binghamton, while losing to Radford, Air Force, and Texas-Arlington.
  • LU ranks inside the top 20 in the nation in digs per set (19.30) and opponents hitting percentage (.123).
  • Loyola Freshman Katie Forsythe is tearing it up in the early going, placing fourth in the country in digs per set (6.39), 11th in total digs (147) and is the current co-Rookie of the Week in the Patriot League.
  • The Greyhounds have another stellar Freshman in Abby Hamilton, who currently places in the conference regarding attacks per set (10.65), points (93), and kills (78) as well as leading the Patriot League in points per set (4.04)

  • Freshman Libero/Defensive Specialist Rebekka Hauri has shown a knack for the offensive side of the ball to begin the year, as she ranks third in the conference with 10 aces on the year, placing her at 58th nationally.
  • Brianna Lang has proven to be a steady presence in the middle of the Eagles lineup, leading the team in assists for every contest and currently residing in third place for total assists on the MEAC leaderboard.
