BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State's volleyball team hung in there with North Carolina A&T but fell in four sets (25-17, 25-19, 21-25, 25-17) to the Aggies in the final match of the Charm City Classic Presented by THB Bagels & Deli. Following the match, both
Brianna Lang and
Miajavon Coleman were named to the All-Tournament Team.

How It Happened
First Set
- The first half of the set was evenly matched but after a kill by Asia Stennis tied the score at 12, A&T scored four-straight to take a 16-12 lead and force a Coppin timeout.
- Lauryn Harrell came out of the break with a kill but another 4-0 Aggies run made it a seven point game and out of reach.
Second Set
- Much like the first set, the second frame was close early on as both teams went on a couple of mini runs.
- Coppin cut the set to 13-12 on a A&T service error but three-straight kills gave the vistors a 16-12 lead.
- The Eagles managed to tie the score at 19 after three-straight Aggies errors but A&T scored the final six points of the set to win it 25-19.
Third Set
- Coppin showed some serious toughness, rallying from a 13-8 deficit to win the third set, 25-21.
- Trailing 14-10, Stennis and Jordan Celestine combined for three kills to cut the deficit to a single point before tying the score at 18 on a kill by Miajavon Coleman.
- The teams traded points but a pair of kills by Coleman and an Aggies error gave the Eagles a 23-20 lead.
- After an A&T kill, Stennis recorded a kill and Chelsie Kolibar finished the frame with an ace.
Fourth Set
- North Carolina A&T led from start to finish, taking a 6-1 lead before Coppin took a timeout.
- Coppin clawed its way back into the match, cutting the deficit to just 12-10 but the Aggies scored three-straight to take a five point lead.
- Kils by Coleman and Stennis made it a 15-12 game but the Aggies used a pair of 4-0 runs to seal the win.
Inside the Numbers
- Miajavon Coleman continued her impressive play with a team-high 19 kills with just three errors to hit .400 for the match.
- Asia Stennis recorded a double-double with 12 kills and led all players with 13 digs.
- Brianna Lang quarterbacked the offense to a .187 hitting percentage with 39 assists and also finished with five digs.
- Jordan Celestine, Lauryn Harrell and Christa Johnson all had three blocks apiece.
- Unforced errors played a big factor as CSU made ten service errors and 11 receiving errors.
- A&T hit .261 for the match and was led by Courteney Pitt's 24 kill, ten dig performance.

- The Lady Eagles make the short trip to take on UMBC on Tuesday, September 25 at 7 pm in what will be Coppin's final tuneup before opening MEAC playing at 6 pm on Friday, September 28 at Norfolk State.
