BALTIMORE, Md. - Cayla Brown hit a three-run walkoff home run in the Bottom of the 7th inning to propel the Coppin State softball team to a 12-10 victory over St. Peter's University on Sunday evening in the final day of the Eagles Classic. Brown finished the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored and six RBIs as she also had a RBI double in the first inning and a RBI double in the second which gave the Eagles a 5-4 lead.
Trailing 10-7 going into their final at bat, Coppin was able to score two runs prior to Brown's blast.Â
Haley Bravo led off the inning with a single and advanced to third at
Megan Narvaez reached on a throwing error.Â
Cloe' Ochoa then single to score Bravo before Narvaez scored as
Patricia Soria reached on another error. Brown's home run was the sixth of her career after she hit four to lead the team last season en route to being named Second Team All-MEAC.
Nia Bowe also continued her strong play to start the season, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the contest while Soria drove in two along with four runs scored.
Madison Didion struck out seven Peacocks in the complete game victory for Coppin who returns to action on Thursday, March 8 at 1 pm vs. Omaha.
