HAMPTON, Va. – Freshman
Haley Bravo and sophomore
Cayla Brown both had two hits in an 8-2 road loss for Coppin State against Hampton on Saturday, April 22
nd at the Lady Pirates Stadium.
Coppin State falls to 6-38 overall record and 4-9 in the conference.
In the fifth inning, the Eagles scored a pair of runs in a hit and a fielding error by the Pirates. Sophomore
Megan Narvaez led off reaching on an error and scored CSU's first run on a passed ball. Freshman
Cloe' Ochoa singled to center field advancing Narvaez to second followed by a walk by sophomore
Cayla Brown. Junior
Nicole Ullman RBI grounded out which allowed Ochoa to score the final run.
Brown singled to left field in the first inning and then freshman
Patricia Soria singled to right field in the second inning. Brown's second hit came in the third with a single to center field. Freshman
Haley Bravo singled to left field in the fourth and also recorded their final hit in the sixth with a single to third base.
Hampton got off to a quick start with one run in the first, three in the second, two in the fourth and two in the sixth inning.
Coppin State returns home and will host Norfolk State University on Tuesday, April 25
th at 5pm.
