NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State baseball fell 4-2 to Norfolk State University on Friday, April 21
st at Marty L. Miller Field. The Eagles fall to 9-24 overall record and 6-10 in the MEAC.
The Eagles finished with four hits by junior 
Brett Helmbrecht, junior 
Andres Santana, senior 
Clinton Arnold and junior 
John Bonanca against the Spartans.
Sophomore pitcher 
Krystian Negron (1-3) struck out five batters in 6.0 innings on the mound with a pair of walks. Norfolk State scored one run in the first inning and three in the sixth inning.
Coppin State scored their only runs in the second inning on three hits. 
Brett Helmbrecht had his fourth double of the season and then 
Andres Santana followed with an RBI double which was his third of the season scoring
Helmbrecht. Arnold was next and has CSU's third consecutive hit with a single to left field bringing in Santana.
The Spartans finished with five hits and held on for a win in game one of the weekend series against Coppin State. The teams will meet for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 22
nd at Marty L. Miller Field.
