BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State's softball team dropped a pair of home games to Drexel University on Thursday, April 13
th at the CSU Softball Field. The Dragons defeated the Eagles 13-0 in game one and 3-0 in game two. Coppin State falls to 5-32 overall record.
Drexel took game one of the doubleheader (13-0) with three runs in the third inning, two in the fourth inning and eight in the fifth inning. Coppin State finished with a pair of hits by sophomore
Cayla Brown and junior
Camille Ochoa.
Brown singled up the middle in the fourth inning and Ochoa singled to left field in the fifth inning. Starting pitcher for the Eagles sophomore
Madison Didion (5-16) went 4.2 innings striking out three batters and waking one. Relief pitchers sophomore
Dakota Gartrell and freshman
Arianna Alderete each had one strikeout in the final inning.
Freshman
Shelby Spaziani pitched a season-high 7.0 innings in game two of the doubleheader. Drexel won 3-0 with one run in the first inning and a pair in the seventh inning. Spaziani struck out one batter and had no walks. Coppin State finished with four hits while the Dragons posted nine.

Patricia Soria singled to left field. Their next hit came in the fourth inning by freshman
Haley Bravo singling to center field. Freshman
Cloe' Ochoa had the final hit in the fifth inning singling to right field. Red-shirt sophomore
Nicole Ullman and freshman Isabella Didio both drew walks at the plate for Coppin State.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, April 18
th at home against Mount St. Mary's in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at the CSU Softball Field.
