BALTIMORE, Md. – Freshman
Cloe' Ochoa finished 3-for-3 at the plate against Marist in game two leading the Eagles offense. Marist swept the double header with Coppin State on Saturday, March 5
th 8-0 in game one and 11-3 in game two.
GAME 1: Marist 8, Coppin State 0
In the first game of the double header, Marist shutout the Eagles 8-0 in the sixth inning. The Red Foxes finished with 11 hits compared to eight by the Eagles. Sophomore infielder
Megan Narvaez and freshman outfielder
Camille Nowak both had two hits.
Marist scored one run in the second inning, six in the fourth inning and a final run in the sixth inning.
The Eagles started freshman pitcher
Arianna Alderete (0-2) at the mound. Alderete struck out two batters while walking none in 3.2 innings of action. Relief pitcher
Cloe' Ochoa went 2.1 innings fanning one batter and walking one.
In the bottom of the first inning Narvaez led off with a single to right field and then sophomore
Cayla Brown singled to left field. The Eagles had two more hits in the third inning with Narvaez singling to center field and Nowak singling to left field.
A miserable fourth inning for Coppin State defensively led to six runs for Marist on six hits and a fielding error by the Eagles.
In the fourth inning Marist committed two fielding errors but the Eagles only managed a single hit going down the right field line by freshman
Haley Bravo. Sophomore outfielder
Melanie Benge singled to right center field in the fifth and Nowak doubled to left field for her second hit if the afternoon. Sophomore
Hatika James recorded the Eagles final hit in the sixth inning singling to left field in the 8-0 loss.
GAME 2: Marist 11, Coppin State 3
Sophomore
Cloe' Ochoa was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 in the second game of the double header.
Haley Bravo recorded two hits and
Cayla Brown had the Eagles only double base hit.
Marist won 11-3 off of 17 total hits. The Eagles used four pitchers with
Megan Narvaez picking up her second loss of the season.
Narvaez struck out one and walked one in five innings.

Dakota Gartrell and freshman
Shelby Spaziani combined for two innings on the mound.
Marist led 1-0 after the first inning until two hits by Coppin State tied it all up in the second inning. Brown led the inning off with a double to left field.
Hatika James pinch ran for Brown and advanced to third on a wild pitch by the Red Foxes. Next, Benge grounded out the third base but not before James crossed home tying the game at 1-1.
In the fourth inning, Marist knocked in a pair of runs off of four hits and an error by CSU. The Eagles managed one run in the bottom of the inning on three hits. Nowak led off with a single to center field and then recorded her first stolen base of the season advancing to second. Bravo then singled to right field and then
Cloe' Ochoa RBI singled to right field scoring Benge.
Finally in the seventh inning Bravo singled to short stop and later scored on a throwing error by Marist crossing home plate while junior
Camille Ochoa reached first base safely.
The Red Foxes had one run in the first, two in the fourth, two in the fifth, four runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh inning downing Coppin State 11-3.
Haley Bravo tied a season-high with two hits and played well defensively making five putouts in center field.
Camille Nowak had a season-best two hits including her first double of the year and a stolen base.
Camille Ochoa had her first RBI of the season and her sister
Cloe' Ochoa went 3-for-3 pounding out a season-high three hits and an RBI. Cloe' also drew two walks and stole a base in the double header against Marist.
Coppin State drops to 2-14 overall record after their third loss of the season to Marist. The Eagles return to the field for a double header against Rider University on Saturday, March 11
th at 12:00 pm at the CSU Softball Field.
