PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Coppin State men's basketball fell 78-57 on the road to Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, February 4
th at the Hytche Center. Senior

Tre' Thomas both scored in double figures for Coppin State in the Eagles fourth loss in a row.
Coppin State drops to 5-19 overall with a 4-5 MEAC record while Maryland Eastern Shore moves to 8-16 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
Chas Brown scored a team-high 14 points on 6-of-9 made shots from the field. He had six rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes of action.
Tre' Thomas led the bench scoring with 13 points hitting 4-of-6 three-pointers and had a pair of rebounds. Senior
Terry Harris Jr. grabbed a team-high seven rebounds and scored six points while freshmen
Dejuan Clayton also scored six points and dished out three assists. Senior
Joseph Gripper tallied three assists and junior
Blake Simpson recorded six rebounds.
The Eagles got off to a quick start leading for the first five minutes against the Hawks. The Shore came back with hot shooting from behind the arc registering five three-pointers in the first half. The Eagles struggled after their fast start and shot a miserable 27-percent from the field (5-18). MDES took the lead by the 14:43 mark and never looked back. They advantage grew to double-digits and by halftime and the Eagles trailed 40-23. Clayton scored six first half points and sophomore
Lucian Brownlee scored all five of his points.
In the second half the Hawks kept their advantage to double-digits and led by as many as 27 by the midway mark of the half. Coppin State improved their shooting from the field behind the duo of Thomas and Brown. Thomas hit four threes in the half scoring 13 point and Brown was an efficient 4-for-6 from the field scoring ten points. The first half deficit was too much to overcome as Coppin State suffered a 78-57 road loss to Maryland Eastern Shore.
Maryland Eastern Shore had four score in double-digits with Ryan Andino leading the way with 24 points on 8-of-17 made three-pointers. Logan McIntosh had 13 points, Bakari Copeland scored 11 points and Thomas Rivera finished with ten points. The Hawks made ten three-pointers shooting 41-percent from behind the arc and forced the Eagles into a season-high 23 turnovers.
The Eagles begin a three game home stretch inside the Physical Education Complex on Monday, February 6
th against North Carolina Central at 7:30 p.m. NCCU leads the all-time series with the Eagles 7-3, despite CSU winning their last meeting in Baltimore on Feb. 18, 2016 (71-60). Then Coppin State will host Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, February 11
th at 4 p.m. and then Delaware State rounds out the home slate on Monday, February 13
th at 7:30 p.m.
