Dejuan Clayton Earns MEAC Co-Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week Honors

NORFOLK, Va. – Coppin State University freshman guard, Dejuan Clayton, has been selected Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week for his play last week for the Eagles.

Clayton scored a career-high 28 points in Coppin State's win at Howard on Monday, Jan. 16. In addition to his career-high output, the freshman from Bowie, Md. dished out five assists while also pulling down four rebounds. Clayton also had a stellar shooting performance as he shot 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the field.

Coppin State (5-15, 4-1) is on a current three game win streak within conference play and are 4-1 in the month of January. The Eagles return home for a pair of MEAC games inside the Physical Education Complex on Monday and Saturday. First, the Eagles host Norfolk State on Jan. 23rd at 7:30 p.m. and then they take on rival Morgan State on Jan. 28th at 4:00 p.m.
