Eagles Head to Pittsburgh For Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational


EAGLES PREPARE FOR FOUR MATCHES AT DUQUESNE/ROBERT MORRIS INVITATIONAL
  • The Eagles travel to Pennsylvania for a four-match tournament hosted by Duquesne and Robert Morris on Friday and Saturday (Sept 2-3). Coppin State (0-3) takes on Duquesne (1-2) at 11 a.m. and Bucknell (1-2) at 7 p.m. inside the A.J. Palumbo Center. Then will battle Robert Morris (1-2) at 11 a.m. and St. Francis (Pa.) (1-3) at 4 p.m. inside the Charles L. Sewall Center on Saturday.
 
COPPIN STATE VOLLEYBALL ON THE NET
  • All four matches this weekend will feature live stats and live video. Links are available on the women's volleyball schedule page on coppinstatesports.com. In addition, Twitter updates will be available @coppinsports.

  • The Eagles' battle American University in a mid-week clash on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 7:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
 
EAGLES vs. DUQUESNE/ROBERT MORRIS INVITATIONAL OPPONENTS
  • This will be the first ever meeting between Coppin State and Duquesne in volleyball.
  • Their next opponent in Pittsburgh; Bucknell is 5-0 against the Eagles. The teams last met on Sept. 16, 2011 with CSU falling 3-1 on the road.
  • Coppin State and Robert Morris have faced each other seven times with the Colonials holding a 7-0 record in the series. The last meeting came on Sept. 22, 2008 with Robert Morris winning 3-0.
  • Coppin State is 1-9 all-time vs. St. Francis (Pa) with the last meeting taking place on Sept. 19, 2015. The Eagles won 3-2 picking up their first victory over the Red Flash in program history.
 
LOUGHEED NAMED TO KRISTEN DICKMANN ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM
  • Freshman middle blocker Jasmine Lougheed was named to the 2016 Kristen Dickmann Invitational All-Tournament Team representing Coppin State University, on August 28. Lougheed finished with 19 kills, on 37 attempts with only two errors. She posted a .459 hitting percentage, recorded three digs and assisted on a block during the weekend against Delaware, Navy and New Hampshire.
 
EAGLES IN THE MEAC RANKINGS
  • Coppin State comes into this weekend's action ranked fifth among conference teams in aces per set (1.00), digs per set (12.10), team attacks per set (30.50) and total team blocks (13.0).
  • Individually, freshman Jasmine Lougheed is fourth in hitting percentage (0.459), while junior Bailee Jackson is sixth in both service aces (5) and aces per set (.50). Freshman Dominique Madarang is sixth in assists per game (6.50) and junior Glorines Rosado ranks seventh in digs per set (3.30).
