SALISBURY – The Eagles suffered a 10-0 shutout loss to Bethune-Cookman in the opening game of the 2016 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Baseball Championships on Thursday, May 19
th at Perdue Stadium.
Coppin State was held to two hits by the Wildcats in their return to the MEAC Baseball Championships after a one year absence. Senior outfielder
George Dragon singled to right field in the second inning and junior infielder
Bryant Miranda singled to center field in the fourth inning.

Devin Sutorius (4-7) went five innings on the mound, striking out three while giving up two earned runs. Coppin State used five pitchers against Bethune-Cookman and held the Wildcats to only four hits.
Bethune-Cookman scored one run in the first, fourth, and fifth innings taking a 3-0 advantage. The Wildcats sealed the win with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning taking the game via mercy rule (10-0).
With the defeat Coppin State will play the loser of the matchup between Delaware State and North Carolina Central at 7 p.m. tonight.
