Baltimore, Md. — All winter long, the Coppin State University cheerleading squad has been among the Eagles' most enthusiastic supporters throughout the basketball season and beyond. Now they will have the chance to show they are among the most enthusiastic supporters in all the MEAC when they perform at the Annual Cheerleading Championships on March 6
th, the day before the MEAC basketball tournament in Norfolk, Virginia.
According to the MEAC, the Cheerleading Championship features competitive squads from the conference's member institutions showcasing their talents through jumps, partner stunts, pyramids, tosses, tumbling, and motion and dance routines. Along with the participating MEAC Institutions, area middle and high schools, as well as recreational cheerleading teams will be performing.
The event will take place at Echols Hall on the campus of Norfolk State University. The Cheerleading Championship is set to at 5:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on MEACsports.com. Fans can purchase tickets at the NSU Ticket Center, Monday-Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased at (737) 823-9009 or online at www.nsuspartanstickets.universitytickets.com. Tickets are $8 for adults or $5 for children 12 and under.

After participating in the cheerleading competition, the students will head to Norfolk Scope Arena to cheer on the school's basketball teams in the MEAC tournament, with first round games either on March 7
th or 8
