BALTIMORE- The Coppin State women's basketball will begin a three game Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) road trip with a trip to the BankUnited Center for a Friday night contest against the University of Miami.

The Lady Eagles and the Hurricanes will meet for the third-straight year after never previously squaring off. Miami has won each of the prior two contests, most recently posting a 70-54 home victory on December 13, 2014.

Coppin State (2-4) is coming of a setback to Bowie State 64-63, Wednesday night in Physical Education Center Arena.

Jordan Swails exploded for 20 points and grabbed six rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting, good for (82%) accuracy from the field. She also added three assists and two steals, both team highs. She is averaging 10.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and team high 2.8 assists per contest.

The Lady Eagles have had back-to-back games with a 20-point scorer. It was the second consecutive double figure scoring game for the senior guard.

Senior forward
Janelle Lane was a force on defense, stuffing the Lady Bulldogs for a career high four blocks. She was two rebounds short of a double double finishing with 11 points and tied a team high with eight boards. Lane leads the Lady Eagles with 12.2 points per contest and is eighth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Overall, Coppin State has four players averaging 10 or more points after six games.
Amber Griffin has a 10.7-point per game average and
Keena Samuels is scoring at a 10 point per game clip.

Coppin State leads the MEAC in field goal percentage and scoring offense. The Lady Eagles are shooting the ball at a (40%) accuracy and pouring in 62.8 points over six contests. The Lady Bulldogs also lead the MEAC in assists (13.5) and defensive rebounds (26.2) per game.Â

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are still perfect after their first eight games.

Juniors Adrienne Motley and Jessica Thomas are the team's top scorers through the opening eight games. Motley is averaging 17 points per game and while Thomas is adding 10.6 points per contest. Motley scores a game and season-high 24 points, including 16 in the second half, in a 73-64 win over Illinois Wednesday night.

Next up for Coppin State will be a trip to the Carrier Dome for a Wednesday night matchup against Syracuse University on December 9. It will be the Lady Eagles second consecutive road game against an ACC opponent.Â
