PHILADELPHIA – Patricia Sosa Lora put up a double-double 12 points with 16 rebounds, but the Coppin State women's basketball team fell at Temple, 59-39, on Friday night at Liacouras Center. The Eagles fell to 2-11 on the season while the Owls improved to 6-5 overall.
Sosa Lora was the only CSU player in double figures, hitting 5-of-13 from the floor with a pair of free throws to go with a team-high three steals. Sosa was followed by
Erin Henry with seven points and
Khila Morris with six as the Eagles failed to make a 3-pointer.
Henry and
Paris McBride had two assists and two steals apiece, as did
Kyley Gary-Grayson.
Temple scored 20 points off Coppin's 29 turnovers and had four players score in double figures.
Coppin will take on Georgia in Richmond, Va., on December 21 at 12 pm as part of the 4 Tha Culture Holiday Classic. The game will be carried on ESPN+ from the Henrico Sports & Events Center.
