Tyler Davis is in his first season as Coppin State’s Director of Women’s Basketball Operations after being hired in July of 2021.
Davis arrives in Baltimore after serving as a Regional High School and College Basketball Scout at Between the Lines Sports, a Sports Media Company covering the NBA, NCAA, NBA G League, and High School Basketball. Davis’s duties were assisting the scouting department with statistical research and data entry, attending boys and girls high school, grassroots, college games to observe and evaluate college level talent, perform interviews with high school athletes, prepare scouting reports, traveling throughout the Southeast and Midwest regions to gather information on players and assisting with starting a girls high school prospect database.
During the 2020-21 season, Davis worked as the Director of Player Development at Eastern Kentucky University where he was involved with coordinating aspects of basketball operations. Davis also served as a liaison with the marketing department through social media content, oversaw the student managers and assisted with recruitment documentation in accordance with NCAA regulations.
Prior to joining the staff at EKU, Davis spent a season as a manager for the track & field program at University of Cincinnati, served as a graduate assistant at Woodware Career Technical High School, interned at both DME Sports Academy and Cincinnati Public Schools.
During the summer of 2016, Davis served as an Operations Assistant at The Friars Club, a non-profit social service organization dedicated to serving special needs of Cincinnati's at-risk children.
Davis began his coaching career as an assistant at Mariemont Junior High in Ohio where he helped lead the Warriors to a Cincinnati Hills League Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Davis was a four-year member of the Track & Field Program at Morehead State University where he was a two-time recipient on the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Davis received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Morehead State University in 2017 and a master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of Cincinnati in 2020.
