Tatyana McClaney is in her first season as an assistant coach with the Coppin State women’s basketball program.
McClaney joins the Eagles staff after spending the last four years as an assistant at Washington Adventist, an NAIA program in Takoma Park, Md. During her tenure where she was vital in implementing game strategy, recruiting and running practices, the Shock had unprecedented success which included a program-best 20-7 record during the 2023-24 season.
In addition to her duties at WAU, McClaney assisted with Team Thrill, formerly DC Premier Girls, where she fundraised, organized and coordinated all team activities and educated athletes on NCAA compliance.
A four-year standout at Francis Marion University, McClaney is among the school’s all-time leaders with 131 blocked shots and earned a bachelors of business administration in human resources. She then went on to play professionally in Mexico and semiprofessionally for the Maryland Jewels.
