All cheerleaders are obligated to fulfill their duties. All cheerleaders are expected to attend all practices and performances, INCLUDING DURING WINTER BREAK. Employment obligations, family events, birthdays, vacations, etc. are not acceptable excuses for tardiness or absence from practices, games or tournaments. If you fail to maintain the skill level that is expected, you run the risk of being removed or replaced.
Medical trainers and sports medicine doctors/surgeons are provided for all CSU athletes. You must be cleared by OUR doctors and training staff in order to participate in this sport. This includes pre-season assessment as well as aftercare of injuries/surgeries.
If you accept a position on the team, a NON-REFUNDABLE PARTICIPATION fee of $200. A portion of this non-refundable fee will cover the cost of (2) uniforms that each cheerleader will own (items may be substituted based on sizing & availability). All other uniform items distributed remain the property of CSU and must be returned at the end of the season. Additionally, each team member is responsible to raise $150 or more through our team fundraiser. If before/during the cheer season you withdraw from CSU, quit the cheerleading team and/or are removed from the team, you WILL NOT receive any gear that is distributed to the remaining team members.
All team members must submit all of their non-refundable participation fees ($200 for by September 10, 2023). Failure to meet this deadline will jeopardize your position on the team and your timely inclusion in upcoming games/events.
All money orders (no checks or cash) should be made out to: Coppin State University Development Foundation (CSUDF). Put "cheerleading" on the memo line and give to Coach Stennett. Receipts will be issued upon payment.
REMEMBER, YOU ARE STUDENT-athletes! Academics are a priority and all cheerleaders MUST maintain a GPA of 2.5 during each semester of participation and may NOT receive a failing grade in any class at the end of any semester during their participation on the team. If you/we find that you are unable to manage your academics and team responsibilities accordingly, you will be removed/suspended from the team. Other rules and regulations will be distributed upon appointment to the team.
