DOVER, Del. – Six different Eagles recorded base hits but the Coppin State softball team dropped its MEAC series finale at Delaware State, 8-0 on Sunday afternoon. The loss dropped the Eagles to 2-14 on the year and 2-4 in league play.

Brooklyn Tapusoa all reached base safely two times, recording a base hit and a walk apiece. Tapusoa and
Leslie Sereno also stole a base.
Emily Quintero took the loss in the complete game, allowing eight runs on 12 hits while striking out two.
Delaware State scored in each of the first four innings to take a 7-0 lead but Quintero kept the game alive with a scoreless fifth. Coppin was unable to capitalize with a run in the sixth, leaving two runners on base, and the Hornets clinched the game in the sixth with their eighth run.
Coppin hosts Saint Peter's in a 1 pm doubleheader on Thursday, March 27, and NC Central for a three-game MEAC series on March 29-30.
