BALTIMORE – Paris McBride hit a late three and
Khila Morris blocked a shot at the other end to seal a 52-49 victory for the Coppin State women's basketball team against Sacred Heart on Saturday afternoon at PEC Arena. The Eagles moved to 2-8 on the season while the Pioneers fell to 2-6.
Trailing, 50-49 after Sacred Heart made 1-of-2 free throws with 20 seconds to go, head coach
Darrell Mosley called timeout. After advancing the ball to midcourt, Morris used a screen and dribbled towards the baseline where she found McBride at the wing for a go-ahead three with 11.7 seconds left.
Sacred Heart then called a timeout, and out of the break, the Pioneers drove the baseline where Morris played excellent defense to block the shot. Morris also grabbed the rebound and hit a free throw before SHU's desperation attempt fell short.

Erin Henry added eight points apiece, followed by
Sydney Burris with seven,
