SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Coppin State's baseball team fell to Le Moyne in their season finale, 11-6, on Saturday afternoon at Dick Rothwell Park. The Eagles fell to 5-16 on the year and 4-8 in the NEC while the Dolphins improved to 10-13 overall and 6-5 in league play.
Anthony Divittorio finished 4-for-4 with a home run and a double to go with two runs, two RBI and a walk.
Kai Holm scored twice with an RBI and
Braylon Watson drove in a pair of runs with a home run.
Kaden Straily allowed five runs over the first 5.0 innings before
Clay Thompson gave up five runs over the next two-thirds of an inning.
John Neeld was charged with one run over the final 2.1 innings as the trio walked a combined 13 batters.
Divittorio led off the game with his second home run of the season but Le Moyne came right back with three runs in its half of the inning. Both teams went scoreless before the Dolphins added to their lead with a run in the third and fourth to go up, 5-1.
Straily finished the fifth with just one runner reaching on an error but the Eagles gave up six runs in the sixth as Le Moyne led, 11-1.
Watson slugged a two-run home run in the seventh and the Eagles added three more in the eighth on RBI from Divittorio, Holm and
Jayden Asencio, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
The Eagles travel to Georgetown for a 3 pm start on Tuesday, April 2 before heading to Sacred Heart for a three-game NEC series on April 5-7.
