CARY, N.C. – Coppin State's women's tennis team's season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to North Carolina Central University on Thursday morning at Cary Tennis Park.
Due to moving indoors for the weather, the Battle of the Eagles went straight to singles play, and NC Central automatically went up, 2-0 with default wins at Nos. 5 and 6.
Indy Ampaw won the first set at No. 2 singles but her match went unfinished as Central picked up victories over
Megan Etienne in the top spot and
Mackenzie Jones at No. 3.
Emperess Johnson trailed, 3-0 in the opening set in the fourth position when the match was clinched.
