BALTIMORE – The Coppin State women's tennis team dropped matches at George Mason and Delaware State over the weekend, both by 7-0 decisions.
Brittanie Cahua and
Tinashe Gwaze earned a 7-5 win against George Mason on Saturday in the second doubles flight, but that was the lone win the Eagles collected in its match against the Patriots.
In singles play, Gwaze played at No. 2 and won five games overall while Cahua did the same in the third slot.

On Sunday in MEAC action at Delaware State, Coppin got a 6-4 doubles victory from the pair of Cahua and Gwaze in the No. 1 position. The Eagles however dropped the doubles point overall as they fell at Nos. 2 and 3.
Cahua also took the first set at No. 1 singles but she dropped a tiebreaker in the second before falling 13-11 in the decider.
The Eagles altered their typical lineup with
Shariah Dunwell at No. 2 singles, followed by
Precious Udofe and Gwaze. Dunwell took three games in a straight-set loss while Udofe won two games. Gwaze put up a great fight but fell in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5.
Ajla Hrnjic also managed to only take two games.
