Lady Eagles fall to Morgan State in final road trip

BALTIMORE – Coppin State's women's basketball team concluded its time on the road with a 73-55 setback to Morgan State Saturday afternoon at the Hill Field House.

Junior guard Amber Griffin led the Eagles (5-21 overall, 4-11 MEAC) with a career-high 15 points. Griffin was near perfect from the foul line going 5-for-6. It was the third time in four games that she has put up double figures and 10th time this season. Griffin now has 282 career assists and is fourth among Coppin State's all-time assists leaders. She only needs two more assists to move into third place.

Classmate Jordan Swails tallied 16 points, 13 of which came in the second half alone. She also had five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Swails has recorded double digits in scoring 12 times this season.

Coppin State will close out the regular season with its Senior Day in the Physical Education Complex against Delaware State Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Before the game, lone senior Bria Harris will be honored for her contributions over the past four years.
