BALTIMORE -- Coppin State concluded the 2007-08 season at the Morgan State Tournament on Sunday by winning two of three matches.
The Eagles defeated Cheyney and Winston-Salem State and almost pulled off a stunning upset of nationally-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson in Baker competition.
Coppin State defeated Cheyney 618-541 and Winston-Salem State 635-576 and dropped a 730-684 decision to Fairleigh Dickinson. The Eagles won the first two games against the Knights and held a 534-511 lead heading into the final game, but Fairleigh Dickinson caputred the final game 219-150 to pull out the victory.
Ashley Brine was Coppin State's top performer during five-person team matches by knocking down 911 pins for a 182.2 average. She had three games of 190 or better and her high game was 199 against Delaware State.
