Eagles Well Represented at NCAA East Preliminary Round

BALTIMORE -- The Coppin State men's track and field team will be well represented at the 2010 NCAA East Preliminary Round Track and Field Championships at North Carolina A&T as four individuals and a relay team have all qualified.
Teo BennettCarlinton Morgan, Jibri Victorian, Brandon Miles and the Eagles 4x400-meter relay team all placed within the top 48 marks in their respective events to earn entry into the field.
The top 12 finishers in each event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Oregon.
The Eagle relay team posted the 12th-best time in the region at the Florida Relays in a time of 3:07.33.
Morgan enters the 400 meters with the 27th-best mark after running a 46.61 time at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.
Victorian recorded the 45th-best mark in the 400 hurdles. He ran a 52.39 in placing second at the MEAC Outdoor Championships.
Bennett qualified in the 200 meters with a time of 21.20, which stands as the 46th-best regional time and he also qualified in the 400 meters.
Miles earned his way into the long jump field after recording a jump of 24-1.50 at the MEAC Championships.
The meet will get underway on Thursday (May 27) and conclude on Saturday (May 29).
