BOSTON -- Coppin State junior
Christina Epps won the triple jump at the 2012 ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in record-breaking fashion at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
Epps broke her own school record in winning the event. She posted a mark of 42-4.75, which easily bettered her school record of 42-00.75 which she set at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
"I am very proud of Christina as she has exceeded all the goals that were set for her this indoor season," said head coach
Alecia Shields-Gadson. "She is extremely dedicated both on the track and in the classroom and epitomizes a true student-athlete. It's so exciting to watch her as she is still growing and learning the event. She still has big jumps left in her."
Alexis Easterling also scored for the Eagles as she posted an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 18-8.75, which stands as her second best jump of the indoor season.
Bonga also recorded a 16th-place finish in the 400 meters in 56.63 and an 18th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 16-3.75.
