EMITTSBURG, Md. – Four Coppin State players score double figures in 81-65 setback to Mount St. Mary's Wednesday in Knott Arena in a non-conference match-up.
Jordan Swails led the Eagles (1-7) with a career-high 19 points. She also pulled down five rebounds and had three steals.
Bria Harris finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. This is her 10th career game and fifth of the season reaching double digits in scoring. Harris shot 3-for-5 from the field and made all eight of her free-throws.
Janelle Lane added 12 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Lane earned her 12th career game scoring in double figures. She has scored in double digits in five of the eight games this season. Lane was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Amber Griffin rounded out the scoring with 11 points and five assists.
As a team, Coppin State shot 91.3 percent from the foul line.
Early in the second half, a jumper by Griffin brought the Eagles within three with 17:49 remaining. Unfortunately, that was as close as they would get.
Three players for Mount St. Mary's finished in double digits. Jacqueline Brewer paced the Mount with 28 points. Jenn Carney added 22 points and three assists. Jessica Harris had 12 points.
Coppin State will end its four-game road trip at the University of Miami Saturday at 1 p.m.
