BALTIMORE --- The Coppin State women's basketball team concludes its season-opening three game road trip by returning to the state of North Carolina for the second time in a week. The Eagles (0-2 overall) visit unbeaten Wake Forest (3-0).
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Deacons are 7-0 against Coppin State all time with all seven games being played in Winston-Salem. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
Three Coppin State women's basketball players scored in double figures in the Eagles' 78-65 loss to UMBC at the RAC Arena Wednesday night. Lone senior Bria Harris led the Eagles with her first career double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Janelle Lane added 13 points and Tanaysa Henderson chipped in with 10 points for the Eagles.
 
ABOUT WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest improved to 3-0 with an 89-77 win over Marquette on Friday at the LJVM Coliseum. Senior Dearica Hamby scored 26 points to lead four Demon Deacons in double-figure scoring. Hamby finished the game one rebound short of a double-double with 26 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals. Sophomore Jill Brunori scored a career-high 20 points with six steals, four rebounds and four assists. Freshman Amber Campbell and sophomore Mykia Jones each added 10 points.
The Deacons are 3-0 on the season for the first time since 2010-11 when Wake Forest started 4-0.
 
ACC-YOU
Coppin State will play three schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference this season in N.C. State, Wake Forest and Miami. A fourth, Maryland was a longtime ACC member until July 1 when it officially joined the B1G Ten Conference.
 
LANE ON FIRE
Janelle Lane finished last season shooting 50 percent from the field. This season through two games, she's off to an even hotter start. Lane is shooting .783 (11-for-15) from the field. She's averaging a team best 14.5 points per game. She has opened the season by scoring in double figures in each of the Eagles' first two games. Overall, Lane has scored in double figures nine times this season.
 
CHAIRWOMAN OF THE BOARDS
Bria Harris leads Coppin State in rebounding, averaging 9.5 rebounds through two games. She has finished with 10 or more rebounds in a game three times during her career.
 
NEXT FOR THE EAGLES
Coppin State plays its home opener when it hosts Robert Morris Tuesday beginning noon.
