Women’s Cross Country’s Gibson Finishes Seventh at Season-Opening DSU Invitational

SMYRNA, Del. – The Coppin State women's cross country team finished fourth of six schools as it opened the season at the Delaware State Invitational at the DSU Outreach & Research Center on Saturday morning.
Lunnise Gibson led the charge for the Eagles, completing the 5K course in 22:49.5 to finish in seventh place. 
A pair of sophomores, MyAsia Mills and Erykah Jerome, came in back-to-back in 22nd and 23rd overall in 28:23.1 and 28:32.6, respectively.
Rounding out the top five for the Eagles were Jasmine Henery (28:46.1) and Erika Hightower (33:41.3).
CSU returns to action next weekend at UMES's Cappy Anderson Invitational on September 15.
