BALTIMORE, Md. –
Coppin State bowling head coach Shaunita Middleton
has announced that Kaylah Castillo
has signed a National Letter of Intent and will compete for the Eagles during the 2018-19 season. This is the first signee reported by Coppin State for next year.
A native of Orlando, Fla., Castillo bowled for Winter Park High School and helped the Wildcats to three-straight Metro Championships from 2014 to 2016. Named the team's most valuable player after both her junior and senior seasons, Castillo also helped Winter Park to a pair of runner-up finishes in 2015 & 2016 as well as a third place finish at the 2016 USBC Orlando Regional Teams Event.
"Kaylah will be a great asset to this program as a student athlete and we are excited to welcome her as a Lady Eagle!" said Middleton. "She gets the work done in the classroom and her strength as a spare shooter will allow her to come in to the program and be an impact bowler. Kaylah's leadership skills and drive embody the hard work and competitiveness that the four bowlers returning from last season's roster (Mya Hamlett
, Aushia Mclean
, Jazzleen McRae
and Nia Turner
) show on a daily basis."
