Amoah Earns MEAC Co-Men’s Track Athlete of the Week Award

Norfolk, Va. – Freshman Joseph Amoah was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday, March 26, 2017. This was Amoah's second MEAC Athlete of the Week accolade during the 2017 outdoor track and field season.

Joseph Amoah (Greater Accra, Ghana) competed in two events at the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday, April 22nd. He took first place in the 100-meter dash and third place in the 200. Amoah's winning time of 10.24 seconds in the 100 set a new school and personal record and now ranks 25th in the nation.

Earlier this season on March 29th, Amoah earned his first MEAC Athlete of the Week after winning the 200-meter dash, at the Weems Baskin Invitational, with a time of 20.48 seconds.

Coppin State will compete at the historical Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA on Thursday and Friday, April 27th and 28th.
