Eagles Win Four Events at UMES Coach O Collegiate Invitational

BALTIMORE, Md. – Coppin State had four first place finishes at the UMES Coach O Collegiate Invitational hosted by University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday, January 7, 2017.
Sophomore Steven Thomas won the men's weight throw event with a measure of 16.12 meters. Thomas also competed in the men's shot put event and was the runner-up measuring at 15.03 meters.
Senior Michael James won the men's mile run beating out six competitors with a time of 4:35.56.
Junior Martin Owusu-Antwi won the men's 400 meter run at 49.82.
Keshaun Hodges led a pair of Eagles in the 500 meter run placing first with a time of 1:09.21. Junior Devin Teagle also ran in the 500 meter event finishing in second place at 1:11.61.
Sophomore Kymere Pritchett set a personal record in the men's 60 meter hurdles event placing third overall with a time of 8.50.
Coppin State heads to the New York Armory in Harlem, NY for their next meet on Saturday, January 14th.
