MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Coppin State University's women's basketball team fell at tenth-ranked West Virginia, 101-43, on Sunday afternoon at WVU Coliseum, dropping the Eagles record to 1-9 on the year. The Mountaineers remain undefeated at 9-0.
Genesis Lucas led Coppin with 15 points while
Chance Graham added ten points to go with a team-high seven rebounds. Both players also were credited with three steals apiece as
Oluwadamilola Oloyede and
Patricia Albert scored six points apiece off the bench.
West Virginia shot a whopping 64.3% from the field and made 20-of-28 from the line along with nine three pointers and led from start to finish. The Eagles shot just 30% from the floor.
The Mountaineers opened the game with a three and
Candice Beverly responded with a jumper but that was as close as Coppin would get as WVU went on an 18-0 and never looked back.
Katrina Pardee led all scorers with 25 points.
The Eagles will have eight days off before traveling to Virginia Commonwealth University for a 6 pm tipoff on Monday, December 18.
